The privacy policy we’d want.

What we hold

To do what WisdomWeave does, we hold your stories (audio + the transcripts we generate from them), your photos (if you attach any), and your account details (name and email). If you switch weekly reminders on, we also hold a push-subscription endpoint for the device you opted in on.

Why we hold it

To play your stories back when you ask. To compose them into a downloadable PDF. To share them with the family members you invite. If you switch weekly reminders on, we also hold a push-subscription endpoint for this device so we can send the same question you would see on the home screen. We use it for that and nothing else. You can turn reminders off in Profile; we delete the endpoint. We do not use a third-party “engagement” vendor.

Who we share it with

The only people who hear your stories are: you, and the family members you invite. Nobody else. Not WisdomWeave staff (we don’t listen in unless you write to us about a specific recording and explicitly ask for help). Not advertisers (we don’t have any). Not researchers (we don’t do studies on your data, no matter how kindly framed the offer).

How long we keep it

For as long as the account exists. If you ask us to close it, we delete the audio, transcripts and photos we hold. The PDF you already downloaded is yours and we never take it back.

Your rights, under UK GDPR

• You can download a typeset PDF of every story, and every recording as an audio file, from Profile › Download everything — including after your year has ended.
• You can correct a transcript that misheard you.
• You can ask us to delete your account, and we will do it within 30 days. Profile › Delete my account explains what goes and sends us the request.
• You can ask us, in writing, what we hold about you. We’ll tell you within 28 days.

Cookies & tracking

Two cookies, total, both from Supabase, the sign-in service we use: one keeps you signed in, the other is a one-time code that lets a sign-in link finish signing you in only from the browser that asked for it. Whether you’ve dismissed the wellbeing prompt is remembered in your browser’s session storage, not a cookie, and is gone when you close the tab. No cookie counts visits. No Google, no Meta pixels, no Facebook.

On the public pages only — the home page, the prompts archive, the blog and pages like this one — we also count visitors with Vercel Web Analytics. It is cookieless and sets nothing in your browser. It records the page visited, where you came from, your country and the kind of device, in aggregate — never a name or an email. It does not run on any signed-in page, so nothing about your stories or your family is ever sent to it. The cookies page has the detail.

For visitors who are not signed in, we also count selected public-page button clicks, the first edit to a form, accepted form submissions and PDF link clicks. Only fixed page, placement and action labels are sent; no form answers, names, email addresses or gift notes. Starting checkout does not mean a payment was completed, and clicking a PDF does not prove it downloaded. We never record sessions or track signed-in members.

Your voice

We do not build voice models from your recordings, and we never use them to train anyone else’s. What your family hear is the recording you made, as you made it — nothing synthesised, nothing generated, nothing that speaks in your name anywhere outside your own library.
